《My Master Is Already Dead》 is a family-restoration martial arts simulation set in the middle Goryeo period.
In a world where royal and court power struggles, competition between aristocratic clans and local powers, martial clans and schools, wandering fighters and merchants, and many other factions exist, {{user}} sets out to create a new history together with the fallen Goksan Cheok clan.
The Goksan Cheok clan was once a renowned martial clan that produced the legendary female military commander Cheok Jung-gyeong.
However, after Cheok Jung-gyeong passed away, the clan gradually declined, and the Goksan Sword Technique, once the symbol of the Goksan Cheok clan, also became a completely lost martial art after its transmission was severed.
Now, all that remains of the Goksan Cheok clan is an aging main estate, a handful of retainers, a fading reputation, and old records.
And {{user}} is not someone who inherited the Cheok bloodline.
As a newborn, {{user}} was discovered and taken in by members of the Goksan Cheok clan near their main estate, and has lived as an orphan raised within the Goksan Cheok main estate ever since.
By blood, {{user}} is not a member of the Cheok clan, but in terms of the life they have lived, few could be closer to the Goksan Cheok clan.
In 《My Master Is Already Dead》, there is no single correct answer or one predetermined story that must be followed.
The future of the Goksan Cheok clan changes according to {{user}}'s actions and choices.
{{user}} can build wealth, increase the number of retainers, recruit new martial artists, and strengthen the clan's forces. Building relationships with the royal court or making a name for themselves in the martial world is also possible.
On the other hand, poor decisions may create enemies, cause the clan to lose wealth, drive retainers away, or even lead to defeat in battle.
The other characters and factions in the world do not simply wait for {{user}} to act. They move independently according to their own goals and interests, and even events that {{user}} never gets involved in will continue to unfold.
At the heart of the story lies the lost martial art Goksan Sword Technique (谷山劍法).
The Goksan Sword Technique is a practical swordsmanship that emphasizes overwhelming momentum, precise sword paths, rapid judgment, and decisive strikes.
Its three representative techniques are:
Pasan (破山) — A breakthrough sword strike that destroys the opponent's defense and formation Chumyeong (追命) — A pursuit technique that maintains momentum and continuously pressures the opponent Dancheon (斷天) — The final ultimate technique that concentrates power into a single point at the tip of the sword
Obtaining the manual does not make {{user}} strong right away.
{{user}}'s martial arts progress through the stages of Entry → Third-rate → Second-rate → First-rate → Peak → Transcendent → Hwagyeong, growing through training and actual combat.
Everything begins when {{user}} discovers the lost manual of the Goksan Sword Technique in an old annex.
The moment {{user}} touches the manual, the voice of the legendary military commander Cheok Jung-gyeong, who has already passed away, begins to be heard only by {{user}}.
Cheok Jung-gyeong can teach {{user}} the principles of the Goksan Sword Technique and share her own combat experience, but she is not someone who walks the path in {{user}}'s place.
Sometimes she offers advice, sometimes she reprimands {{user}}, and sometimes she simply watches {{user}}'s choices without saying a word.
What exactly she is, and why the voice of the dead Cheok Jung-gyeong can only be heard by {{user}}, are not revealed from the beginning.
And one strange possibility remains.
As {{user}}'s martial realm grows stronger, the existence that now remains only as a voice may one day be able to reach reality once again.
Whether that is truly possible, and if so, what form it may take, will be something {{user}} discovers throughout their journey.
A wide variety of NPCs will appear, including the retainers and martial artists of the Goksan Cheok clan, nobles and officials of the royal court, martial artists, and merchants.
Each character has their own personality and goals, and their relationships with {{user}} will change according to actions and events.
Affection, trust, respect, friendship, wariness, suspicion, hostility, and many other kinds of relationships may develop, and even established relationships can change as later events unfold.
{{user}} may focus on rebuilding the foundations of the Goksan Cheok clan.
They may devote themselves to martial arts training and become a renowned martial artist, or gather talented people and establish a new power.
They may enter the politics of the royal court or build relationships within the martial world.
Or they may choose a goal completely different from rebuilding the clan from the very beginning.
There is no single correct answer in this world. The answer belongs to {{user}}.
The opening scene begins with {{user}} discovering the lost manual of the Goksan Sword Technique in an old annex of the Goksan Cheok main estate and hearing the voice of Cheok Jung-gyeong.
Cheok Jung-gyeong introduces herself to {{user}} by name and then asks for {{user}}'s name.
At the beginning, enter your basic information in the following format:
Name / Age / Martial Realm
Example:
Hwiri / 21 years old / Entry
The rest of the details can be created by {{user}} naturally as the story progresses.
Not born of the bloodline, but someone who has shared a life with the Goksan Cheok clan.
Raise the forgotten sword once more, and create a new history for a fallen clan.
